Glossary

The words behind the numbers.

Short, plain definitions of the terms creators and agencies use for revenue, fans and promotion.

Auto-renew
A setting on a fan’s subscription that renews it automatically when the period ends. Fans with auto-renew off leave unless they resubscribe, which makes them the first to remind. Subscriber retention →
Average revenue per fan
Net revenue in a period divided by the number of paying fans in it. Also called ARPU. It shows whether growth comes from more fans or from fans spending more. Earnings calculator →
Big spender
A fan whose lifetime spend is above a threshold you choose. A small group of big spenders often brings in a large share of revenue, so they are worth noticing when they go quiet. Fan CRM →
Bundle
Several pay-per-view items sold together for less than their single prices. A bundle needs fewer buyers than a single item to earn the same, because each sale is worth more. Bundle calculator →
Chatter
A team member who writes to fans on a creator’s behalf, usually at an agency. In erscope a chatter can be limited to chosen accounts and kept from seeing revenue. For agencies →
Churn
Subscribers who leave in a period. The churn rate is the number who left divided by the number subscribed at the start. Lower churn means each new subscriber is worth more. Subscriber retention →
Churn risk
How likely a fan is to leave soon, judged from signs such as silence, falling spend or a subscription ending without auto-renew. erscope scores it from 0 to 100 with the reasons shown. Subscriber retention →
Cohort
A group of fans who started in the same period, usually the same month. Comparing cohorts shows whether fans you win now stay longer than fans you won before. Subscriber retention →
Conversion rate
The share of people who take the next step: clicks on a link that become subscribers, or fans sent an offer who buy it. Tracking link ROI calculator →
Custom request
Content a fan asks for and pays for individually. Tracking requests, their price and their status keeps them from slipping through the cracks.
Fan CRM
A customer relationship tool for fans: each fan’s history, spend, notes and tags in one place, with segments that group fans by behaviour. Fan CRM →
Free page
A creator page anyone can follow without paying. Income comes from pay-per-view, locked posts, tips and custom content rather than a subscription. Free page or paid page? How to choose →
Gross revenue
What fans paid before the platform takes its share. Useful for comparing activity, but not what you keep. OnlyFans analytics →
Lifetime value
Everything a fan has spent with you since they first subscribed. Also called LTV. It helps decide how much effort and promotion a fan, or a source of fans, is worth. Fan CRM →
Mass message
One message sent to many fans at once, often with a pay-per-view item attached. It reaches many fans quickly but feels less personal than a message to one fan.
Net revenue
What you keep after the platform’s share. The figure to plan with, and the one erscope uses for goals and forecasts. Earnings calculator →
Pay-per-view
Content a fan pays for on top of their subscription, usually sent as a locked message. Also called PPV. For many creators it is the largest source of revenue. PPV pricing →
Price band
A range of prices, such as $10 to $20, used to group pay-per-view sales. Comparing bands shows which prices fans accept and which earn the most. PPV pricing →
Quiet fan
A fan with no purchases, tips or messages for a while, by default 14 days. Quiet fans are easier to win back early than after they have left. How to win back fans who have gone quiet →
Rebill
A subscription renewing for another period, and the payment that comes with it. Rebills are revenue you keep without finding new fans. How to stop losing subscribers at renewal time →
Retention rate
The share of subscribers still subscribed after a given time, for example after three months. The opposite view of churn. Subscriber retention →
Return on investment
What a promotion earned minus what it cost, divided by the cost. Also called ROI. Above zero, the promotion paid for itself. Tracking link ROI calculator →
Segment
A group of fans defined by a rule, such as new in the last 7 days or quiet for 14 days. Segments update themselves as fans’ behaviour changes. Fan CRM →
Subscription price
What a fan pays each period to see your feed. A lower price can bring more subscribers; a higher one more per subscriber. Pay-per-view and tips come on top. Earnings calculator →
Subscription tier
One of several subscription levels on the same page, each with its own price and access. Where a platform offers tiers, fans can start low and move up. OnlyFans or Fansly? How to decide with your own numbers →
Tip
A payment a fan sends without buying anything in particular. Tips often come from your most engaged fans.
Vault
Where your photos and videos are stored on the platform, ready to post or send. Knowing which vault items sell helps you offer them again to the right fans. Vault analytics →
Win-back message
A message to a fan who has gone quiet or left, inviting them back. It works best when it is personal and sent before the fan has fully moved on. How to win back fans who have gone quiet →
Zero data retention
An agreement under which an AI provider does not keep what it is sent once it has answered. erscope uses AI only through providers with such an agreement. AI message drafts →
